- Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh entrance fees
- Bottled water
- The Taj Mahal mausoleum supplement
- Meals

The day, hour by hour
- 05:45
Meet your guide at the East gate
Before opening, so you are through security as the gates go up.
- 06:15
Taj Mahal
Two hours while the light changes from grey to pink to white and the crowd is still thin.
- 08:30
Breakfast
A proper sit-down breakfast once you are out. You will have earned it.
- 10:00
Agra Fort
Ninety minutes. The Musamman Burj looks across the river at the Taj — the view Shah Jahan had in his last years, under house arrest.
- 12:30
Rest
Back to your hotel or a restaurant through the hottest part of the day. Agra at 14:00 in June is not a sightseeing hour.
- 17:00
Mehtab Bagh
The Mughal garden directly across the Yamuna. The Taj from behind, at sunset, with almost nobody there.
- 18:30
Finish
Back to your hotel, or onward to Delhi or Jaipur if you are moving on.

Questions people actually ask
Is one day enough for Agra?
For the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh, yes — and that is the right list. Adding Fatehpur Sikri makes it a day spent mostly in a car.
Why Mehtab Bagh rather than another monument?
Because almost nobody goes, and it gives you the Taj Mahal from the far bank at sunset with the river in front of it. It is the second-best half hour in Agra and it costs almost nothing.
Is it better to stay overnight in Agra?
If you want sunrise without a 02:30 departure from Delhi, yes. An overnight also lets you do the fort and the sunset properly rather than racing a return drive.
What if it is foggy?
December and January mornings are frequently fogged in until around 09:00 and the monument can be invisible at opening. We will tell you that before you book a January date, not after.
Are guides at the gate a problem?
Unlicensed guides and 'official photographers' work the entrance persistently. Having your own licensed guide with you ends that conversation before it starts.
Can we be dropped in Jaipur afterwards?
Yes — Agra to Jaipur is about five hours and works well as a one-way transfer with Fatehpur Sikri and Abhaneri en route. Ask and we will quote it.
