Questions people actually ask
What must women wear to the Grand Mosque?
Ankle-length, loose clothing covering the arms, plus a headscarf. Nothing sheer or tight. Abayas are lent free at the visitor centre, but the queue for them between 09:00 and 11:00 is long — bringing your own is faster.
Is the mosque open on Friday?
It opens to non-worshippers in the afternoon only on Fridays. We time the day around this. {{TBC: confirm current Friday hours before publishing}}
Can men wear shorts?
No. Knees must be covered, so long trousers. Kanduras are lent to men who arrive in shorts, same as the abayas.
Is Qasr Al Watan really open to the public?
Yes — it is a working presidential palace with a section genuinely open to visitors. The Great Hall is one of the more astonishing rooms in the Gulf.
Can we start from Dubai?
Yes, with an earlier pickup and a later return; the drive is about 90 minutes each way on the E11. There is no border and no separate visa.
Is there time for Ferrari World or Yas Island?
Not in the same day, honestly. Yas Island deserves its own day and we would rather say so than sell you a rushed one.
