November to March is the comfortable season in Dubai, with daytime temperatures around 24–30°C and the outdoor attractions genuinely enjoyable. June to September is very hot — often above 40°C — which suits indoor attractions and much lower hotel prices.

Weather against price
Dubai’s calendar is a straight trade between comfort and cost. The cooler the month, the more you pay and the longer the queues. The sweet spots are the edges — late November and March — where the weather is still pleasant and the peak-season surcharge has not arrived.
What we know from standing here
- Desert safaris in July are not the ordeal people imagine, because they run late afternoon into evening when the sand has stopped radiating heat. Midday anything outdoors in July is the real mistake.
- Hotel rates in Dubai swing more violently by season than almost any city we operate in — the same room can double between August and January.
- During Ramadan, daytime eating and drinking in public is restricted and many restaurants adjust hours; the city is also quieter and more atmospheric after sunset. It is a good time to visit if you know it is happening.
Questions people ask
What is the best month to visit Dubai?
January and February for the most comfortable weather, though they are also the most expensive and crowded. November and March give nearly the same conditions at noticeably lower prices.
Is Dubai unbearable in summer?
Outdoors at midday, yes. But the malls, aquarium, Museum of the Future and Burj Khalifa are all indoors and fully air-conditioned, and evening activities work well. Summer is the value season for a reason.
When is the Dubai Shopping Festival?
Typically December to January. {{TBC: confirm current dates each year}}
Should I avoid Ramadan?
Not necessarily. Attractions stay open and evenings are lively, but daytime dining is restricted and the pace changes. Go knowingly rather than by accident.
When does it rain in Dubai?
Rarely, and mostly between December and March. When it does rain heavily the roads flood quickly, and outdoor plans can be lost for a day.
